What are the benefits of a Home Owners Association (HOA)?
The HOA will assist in crime prevention through our interactive website and MyHillwood Facebook page which allows all registered members to communicate with each other immediately and with the 24 hour cameras placed in strategic locations.
The HOA allows residents to stay organized and promotes awareness and collective discussion about issue that affect our neighborhood.
The HOA assists in the promotion of a sense of community among the residents of Hillwood.
Where does my annual HOA Dues of $38 go?
The $38 annual dues pays for Hillwood social events, security cameras, and auto stickers.
Will the HOA fee ever go up?
The HOA fee can be raised annually. Each camera that is added to our security network costs the association $2000 per year. As we add cameras that will ultimately cover every Hillwood exit, there may be dues increases to cover the added security cost.
How do I get involved?
Contact board President, Temple Millsap, and let him know of your interest. Volunteers are welcome and there are many opportunities to serve in the HOA.
Why should I pay HOA dues when nothing around here has happened in the past – it’s like my money is getting thrown away.
You’re right! In the past, our HOA was managed poorly. The HOA was managed by past developers. Their goal was to sell homes not necessarily to manage an HOA community. Now that the developer has turned over the HOA to homeowners – we have organized a board and a security team to keep Hillwood safe and a great neighborhood in which to live.
Do I have to be in the HOA?
Being a member of the HOA (Home Owners Association) is not mandatory. The Hillwood HOA has no enforcement powers. Only members will be invited to Hillwood social events and have access to security camera footage in the event of a crime.
When I move what should I do?
Please notify the HOA President, Temple Millsap, when you move or change ownership.
