Roll-Out Container Information
- Read the directions embossed on top of the container.
- The roll-out is the property of the City of Montgomery.
- Removal from assigned residence only by Sanitation Department Personnel.
- Please notify the Sanitation Department when moving at 240-4531 or 206-1619
- Cleaning of the container is the responsibility of the user.
- Containers must be curbside no later than 7:00 A.M. on day of service and removed from curbside no later than 7:00 P.M. of the same day. Sanitation crews will not return until the next service day if the container is placed curbside after your street has been serviced.
- Report missing or damaged containers to 241-2753 Monday through Friday – 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
- Do not place hot materials, Paints, solvents, inflammable liquids, non-containerized liquids, sod, dirt, sand, rocks or any other extremely heavy items in the container.
- Any waste outside of the roll-out container will be collected on the scheduled trashday only.
Note: Containers that are overloaded will not be serviced
Curbside Rubbish/Trash Pick-Up Information
- The roll-out container will not be emptied by the trash crews working your area,. (Serviced by garbage crew on garbage days only)
- Locate trash behind curb, never in the street.
- Schedule for trash removal – one (1) time per week with the exception of Holidays and extreme weather conditions.
- Tree limbs, hedges, etc. – Must be cut less than four (4) feet in length and eight (8) inches in diameter and placed in an orderly manner behind the curb. (Pick-up at no additional charge)
- Tree limbs and large items above the dimensions in (2d) would result in a charge, prorated at ($70.00) per open body load.
- All appliances, mattresses, carpet and other household furnishings will be removed at ($6.00) per unit.
- Leaves and pine straw must be containerized with one (1) exception: October 1 through April 15 of each year. During this period leaves and pine straw must be placed in piles separate from other trash behind the curb line.
- Building debris, such as scrap lumber, plaster, roofing, concrete and other materials resulting from construction, repair, remodeling and demolition, dirt, stumps, tree trunks resulting from landscaping will be the responsibility of the contractor, tenant or owner to have removed.
- Grass must be containerized at all times. Place in bags or trash cans no larger than thirty (30) gallons.
- The Sanitation Department shall not be responsible for the removal of debris from private property before, during, or after construction or demolition of buildings. Contractors that perform work on private property are responsible for the removal of the debris.
Charges for Service
- Sixteen dollars ($16.00) per month for each single family dwelling.
- Billed monthly on your Water Works and Sanitary Sewer bill
